House Bill Would Fund States to Construct Border Wall

States would receive $22 billion in direct payments.

Last month, members of a House study committee visited a section of the border wall in Texas that was nearly completed but construction was halted under President Biden. Now U.S. representatives have revealed a bill to give $22 billion directly to border states that want to continue building the wall.

Commenting on the situation, Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma said, “Biden is paying contractors $2 billion NOT to build the wall. In the meantime, CBP encountered a 20-year-high of illegal immigrants crossing our border and confiscated 508 pounds of fentanyl last month alone. Stop wasting tax dollars to watch the materials and just finish the wall.”

Meanwhile, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has extended an invitation to other governors requesting they send law enforcement and military resources to the border in order to assist with the migrant crisis. Many states have responded with support.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For U.S. agents at the U.S.-Mexico border as they process migrants and seek to prevent drugs from crossing the border into the U.S.
  • For wisdom for legislators as they consider funding the states to finish the border wall.
  • For state and local officials who are dealing with increasing numbers of migrants in their communities.
