Today, President Joe Biden is delivering remarks from the White House regarding ongoing negotiations between administration officials and Congress on a variety of issues. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that topics will include efforts to promote police reform, gun safety, and federal measures to stop violent crimes.

Secretary Psaki added that the president is looking to put “in place safety measures to make our streets safer, preventing the use of guns in violent crime across the country, ensuring that we can have more cops on the beat to protect communities.”

As part of the president’s effort to address violence across the nation, Secretary Psaki said that the president “also believes that we need to ensure that state and local governments keep cops on the beat, that we’re supporting community policing.” She continued by saying that the president wants additional funding and resources available to state and local governments in order to bolster their police forces.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to be at work through the president and Congress as they evaluate ways to address violent crimes.
  • For the president to seek God’s guidance in order to do what is in the best interest of the nation.
  • For wisdom for the president as he and administration officials craft new policies.
