President Sends Condolences to Mexico

Offers assistance after subway overpass collapse.

A concrete horizontal beam collapsed on an elevated subway in Mexico City on Monday, killing 25 people. A column supporting the subway line that had been damaged by an earthquake in 2017 was not sufficiently repaired and gave way, causing one care to fall 16 feet to the median below.

President Joe Biden issued the following statement in support of Mexico,
“The United States joins the people of Mexico in mourning the loss of life due to the collapse of a rail overpass in Mexico City. We send our deepest condolences to all those who lost a loved one and offer our best wishes for the recovery of all those who were injured. As neighbors and partners, our nations are closely linked, and the United States is ready to assist Mexico as it rebuilds from this tragedy.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Biden and his administration to seek God’s direction as they offer assistance in the wake of the tragedy.
  • For the people of Mexico who have lost loved ones in this accident.
  • For U.S. officials working to repair or rebuild the United States’ own infrastructure.
