Authenticity
The booth at the state fair’s midway had a beckoning sign: “Genuine Simulated Diamonds.” Bright overhead lightbulbs shone down on cases of glittering jewelry, drawing those who desired inexpensive “bling” to purchase the stones. Many were deceived, thinking they were getting an authentic jewel at a low price, when they were getting faceted clear or colored glass. Unfortunately, across America there are others who are daily being deceived into accepting a “genuine simulated faith,” one that relies on their good works or simply living a moral life to get them the rewards of Heaven. God’s Word has made it clear. Genuine faith—not the simulated kind—requires believing in God and in His Son, Jesus, for eternal life. Jesus Himself said he is the only way… anything else is deception.
