Last of Census 2020 Lawsuits In Progress

Biden revoked Trump orders, but advocacy groups persist.

The 2020 Census is in the home stretch, along with the last two lawsuits concerning its gathered data. One case was dismissed last Wednesday: Latino and Asian American advocates sued the previous administration over the President Trump’s order to include citizenship status in the census.

Since President Biden rescinded the order and stopped the recording of citizenship status in the final report, the advocates stated in their court papers that their case claims were resolved.

The second lawsuit made by civil rights groups and local governments is on-going. They had sued President Trump’s administration for pushing to end the census early. Government attorneys requested two more weeks to reach a resolution.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That the judges hearing the cases regarding the census would rule wisely.
  • For the federal agencies that will implement changes as a result of the 2020 Census to do so with accuracy and transparency.
