U.S. Trade Representative Confirmed by Senate

First nominee of new administration to receive unanimous vote.

This week, the U.S. Senate voted 98-0 to confirm President Biden’s nominee for United States Trade Representative. Katherine Tai’s experience as former lead trade lawyer for the House Ways and Means Committee, and previously as chief counsel for China trade enforcement, garnered the bipartisan support.

“Katherine Tai is just the kind of qualified and mainstream person who is positioned to serve President Biden and the country quite well,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said. “That is why she received broad bipartisan support from the Finance Committee and why the vote to advance her nomination yesterday was 98-0.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Katherine Tai as she takes up her new role in the administration.
  • For wisdom for the new U.S. Trade Representative and the office she will lead.
  • For God to fulfill His purpose for U.S. trade through the president’s administration.
