Supreme Court Resumes In-Person Meeting

Most justices return to private conference room after a year of meeting remotely.

On Friday, the majority of the justices of the Supreme Court met in person for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began. They had been meeting remotely for the past year, an unprecedented move in the court’s history.

A couple of justices opted to remotely participate in Friday’s conference, despite all nine having been vaccinated. “The change in practice today is in keeping with recently released CDC guidelines regarding indoor gatherings of fully vaccinated people,” Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathleen Arberg said. The court will continue to hold argument sessions by phone through the month of April.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the health and wellbeing of the justices as they resume in-person deliberations.
  • That the justices would seek guidance from the Lord as they issue opinions.
  • For wisdom for the justices as they decide which cases to hear.
