SBA Administrator Nominee Confirmed

Senate votes in favor of former California Small Business Advocate.

The U.S. Senate voted 81-17 to confirm Isabel Guzman as the administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA) this week. The SBA has played a significant role in the federal attempts at covid relief through the approval of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans during the pandemic. She previously served in the agency under President Obama.

Congress is looking to extend the PPP beyond its current March 31 deadline. “SBA must continue to be a lifeline for small businesses in the months ahead, and I am confident that Isabel Guzman is the best person to lead the agency out of the pandemic and through the economic recovery to follow,” said Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Isabel Guzman as she assumes her new role.
  • That God would give the new administrator discernment as she leads her agency.
  • For Congress to have wisdom as they consider the extension of the PPP.
