President’s Administration Announces Immigration Plan

First wave of asylum-seekers will arrive by Feb. 19.

On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced the Biden Administration’s plan to grant asylum to slowly increasing waves of Mexican immigrants. They do not wish to encourage an influx of new applicants, but hope to utilize the increase to craft a more comprehensive asylum system for the United States.

“As President Biden has made clear, the U.S. government is committed to rebuilding a safe, orderly, and humane immigration system,” Secretary Mayorkas said. “This latest action is another step in our commitment to reform immigration policies that do not align with our nation’s values.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to work through the president’s administration to accomplish His will.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Mayorkas as he oversees his department and the changes to immigration policy.
  • For the safety and empathy of CBP agents stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border.
