Senator Graham Calls for Standalone Vote on $2000 Aid

Hopes single-issue vote would pass more readily.

Senator Lindsey Graham has expressed support for a vote on a stand-alone bill to raise the stimulus checks to $2,000 as President Trump has called for. Senator McConnell has stated that he would not pass a stand-alone bill, intending to leave the check amounts at $600.

Senator Graham said on Thursday, “It’s expensive, it’s not the most efficient way to get aid to people who are suffering. But, $600 is not enough. The president has dug in, he wants a vote on a $2,000 payment. I support that.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Senator Graham and his colleagues in their discussions and debates.
  • That Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would have discernment as he decides what legislation to bring to the floor.
  • That President Trump’s desire to help Americans would be considered by the Senate during this time of transition.
