DOJ Appeals Ruling on TikTok Ban

Executive order previously blocked by federal judge.

President Trump signed an executive order in August enacting the divestment of TikTok in the United States based on concerns that the app poses a breach in national security. TikTok has denied the allegations, and the executive order was blocked by U.S. District Judge Wendy Beetlestone. On Dec. 7, the Justice Department appealed this block.

In September, the president had agreed to the establishment of a U.S. branch of TikTok headquarters as a compromise for total divestment. However, the deal was never officially approved and has gone past the set deadline for the enactment of this plan.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Justice Department in their pursuit of national security.
  • For the U.S. District Court judges to rule according to the law and Constitution.
  • That President Trump would carefully weigh the ramifications of internet privacy issues.
