Pentagon Releases Plans for Increased Diversity

Memo signed by Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller

A memo entitled “Actions to Improve Racial and Ethnic Diversity and Inclusion in the U.S. Military” was signed and released by the Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller last week that adopts all 15 recommendations by the Diversity and Inclusion Board that was chartered by former Defense Secretary Esper. The plan immediately enacts the eradication of in-service hate groups, proposes changes to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and promotes the pursuit of ethnic diversity in their workforce.

“I expect all leaders to take an aggressive approach to embed diversity and inclusion practices into the core of our military culture,” Miller said in the memo. “We must not accept — and must intentionally and proactively remove — any barriers to an inclusive and diverse force and equitable treatment of every service member.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller as he organizes the inner workings of U.S. defense units.
  • That the Pentagon would seek to provide equal standing for their employees.
  • For the Pentagon’s Board on Diversity and Inclusion in their work to better U.S. forces.
