Stand and See

Exodus 14:13 – Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today.

In many areas of the nation, the COVID-19 virus is losing its punch. But in others, testing is showing more positive cases, there are more people being hospitalized, and the death rate still soars. The unease of not knowing what is coming next, whether to gather with friends or not, being careful to always wear your mask, keeps fear alive. Even among infectious disease specialists (never mind politicians), how to deal with the virus when faced with it differ. Unfortunately, instead of reason, rationality, open-mindedness and being other-centered, people are resulting to panic, fear, suspicions, self-absorption and reactionary behaviors.

Looking at today’s verse reminds you of the story of the Exodus. Gods’ people had been slaves in Egypt. God brought plagues. Pharaoh finally agrees to let the people go, but then chases after them.  Moses tells them to watch what the Lord is about to do! But they had to let go of their fear.  You know how God parted the waters of the sea so the people could pass through on dry ground to the side where there was safety.

Today, God is doing a work in America…and the enemy is chasing behind as fast as he can trying to subvert everything in the Lord’s plan that would bring people to Himself. Stand firm. You know Who wins!  Look and watch to see His Hand and the wonders He will perform.

Pray With Us

Dear Lord God, You are sovereign and You rule over all the Earth. I do not have the understanding of all that it is You are doing; but I see people being drawn to You, people praying, and other small evidences that Your Spirit is working among us. Help me to be patient as I wait on You. Help me to be encouraged by the things that happen…even the opposition, because the enemy wouldn’t be working so hard if he thought he had the upper hand. You alone are God, and I worship You. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.
