Iran Releases U.S. Veteran

After nearly two years, “the nightmare is over.”

Navy veteran Michael White is on his way home to the United States after he was released from being in Iranian captivity for nearly two years. U.S. Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook traveled to Switzerland to accompany White back to America.

In a statement, his mother said, “For the past 683 days my son, Michael, has been held hostage in Iran by the ROC and I have been living a nightmare. I am blessed to announce that the nightmare is over and my son is safely on his way home.”

President Trump thanked Switzerland for helping with the transition. He tweeted Thursday morning that White “is on a Swiss plane that just left Iranian Airspace. We expect him to be home with his family in America very soon.” He added, “I will never stop working to secure the release of all American hostages overseas. Thank you Switzerland for your great assistance.”

White’s release came a day after an Iranian scientist held by American authorities was returned to Iran.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Michael White and his reunion with members of his family and friends.
  • For President Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo and others who are working to secure the release of other Americans held hostage around the world.
