White House to Coordinate Distribution of Experimental Drug

Planned effort to prevent bidding wars over COVID-19 treatment, Remdesivir.

The company that developed the first drug that tested successfully for COVID-19 recovery, Gilead Sciences, plans to donate their entire current stock of the drug to the federal government. However, there is not a great quantity at the moment, and no process currently in place to help get the drug in the hands of the medical community.

In response to this issue, Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced Friday that the White House has appointed Dr. Deborah Birx as one of the chief consultants on where and how the drug will be distributed to states and hospitals in the near future. Dr. Birx was brought on as part of the White House Coronavirus Task Force at the beginning of the epidemic, as was described by McEnany as the person who “really has the best grasp as to how that should be distributed.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That the Lord would provide Dr. Deborah Birx with wisdom as she leads the effort to distribute the experimental drug.
  • For Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany as she continues to uphold clear communication during this global pandemic.
  • For the medical community as they continue to combat the coronavirus.
