New York Pleads for More Hospitals, Federal Aid

The U.S. epicenter for coronavirus outbreak recently logged 44,000 cases.

With the epidemic gaining momentum every day, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has requested federal authorization to build 4 hospitals in New York City proper. The additional hospitals would increase the number of hospital beds from 53,000 to 140,000, as well as a large influx of necessary hospital equipment. Public servants, such as policemen and transit attendants, are feeling the infection impact the most.

Vice President Mike Pence confirmed that the government has shipped additional ventilators to the state and President Donald Trump attended the send-off for the USNS Comfort which will serve as an auxiliary hospital to augment New York’s existing but strained hospital system.

White House Coronavirus Task Force Director Deborah Birx urged New Yorkers to take extreme measures to slow the infection rate, “Everybody who was in New York should be self-quarantining for the next 14 days to ensure that the virus doesn’t spread to others, no matter where they have gone, whether it’s Florida, North Carolina or out to Long Island.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For divine clarity President Trump as he confronts the epidemic.
  • For Governor Cuomo as he seeks to care for the citizens allotted to him during an extraordinary time.
