Evictions and Foreclosures on Hold During Outbreak

Decision made to help Americans who are impacted by the unpredictable economy in like of the coronavirus.

Dr. Ben Carson, HUD Secretary, said the president has authorized the immediate cessation of eviction and foreclosure proceedings. This is all about helping our people who are being severely impacted economically by the coronavirus.  We have asked mortgage lenders to exercise forbearance. People should be in contact with their lenders because this does not happen automatically. We are getting great cooperation.

Section 8 housing vouchers will be sent out next week for April and May vouchers are being worked on. We are working with advocates for low-income housing.

Deadlines have been extended for multi-family and healthcare providers for their regular reporting.

We are trying to “bridge the gap” realizing it is far easier to take these measures now so we don’t destroy an excellent system and have to start all over again.  If we don’t send the money and deal with it now, it will cost a whole lot more to rebuild it. “We appreciate the sense of unity in this country. Let’s hope and pray it lasts far beyond this crisis,” he said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for President Trump and Secretary Carson as they work to help many Americans during this time.
  • For God to be with the many Americans now struggling due to being out of work or on leave during the outbreak.
