President Signs Coronavirus Funding Bill

Trump Azar Pence
Over $8 billion in funds set aside for prevention and relief

On Friday, President Trump officially signed a bipartisan funding bill that would put over $8 billion in funding to help stop the spread of the coronavirus in the U.S. The bill included over $3 billion for research and development, $2.2 billion for public-health efforts, and $1.25 billion for international aid efforts to stop the spread of the disease.

President Trump celebrated the bill saying, “So we’re signing the 8.3 billion. I asked for two and a half and I got 8.3 and I’ll take it.” He was joined by Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar who will be largely responsible for managing the new funding for the efforts to stop the spread of the disease. Currently, there are over 500 confirmed cases of the virus in the nation, with 22 individuals dying from the disease.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be led on how best to keep the nation safe from the spread of disease.
  • For Secretary Azar to be used by God to stop the coronavirus.
  • For Congress to be guided by God on the best legislation to combat global pandemics.
