New policy targets individuals accused of undermining rule of law on behalf of China in the region
The U.S. Department of State has introduced a visa restriction policy for individuals in Central America who act on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to weaken the rule of law in the region. Under this policy, those who knowingly fund, support, or carry out such activities, along with their immediate family members, may be barred from entering the U.S. The department has begun imposing these restrictions on certain individuals believed to have engaged in these efforts.
According to the State Department, the measure seeks to hold accountable those who cooperate with external parties to destabilize governance and security in Central America. Officials emphasized that these steps are part of a broader strategy to protect regional stability and U.S. interests while promoting transparency and the rule of law.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Rubio and officials in the State Department as they seek to support the rule of law in the United States and other nations.
- For President Trump to seek God’s guidance as he and members of his Cabinet craft foreign policy.
