The department awards SSVF grants to 235 support organizations across the nation.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently announced that it is distributing $818 million to support homeless veterans or veterans at risk of becoming homeless. The grant funding will be distributed through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program to 235 support organizations that offer housing counseling services, legal assistance, financial planning services, and childcare in local communities.
“Supportive services like child care, housing counseling, and financial planning can be important catalysts for preventing or resolving homelessness,” Secretary Doug Collins said. “These grants will help bring crucial support to thousands of veterans in need across the nation.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for Secretary Collins as he oversees initiatives to prevent homelessness for veterans.
- For VA staff and officials as they support and care for American veterans.
- For U.S. veterans and their families to benefit from the programs available to them.
