U.S. Marshals Director Supports Federal Control of D.C. Law Enforcement

White House Deputy Chief of Staff calls the crime cover-up by D.C. police a “massive scandal.“

U.S. Marshals Service Director Gady Serralta recently expressed support for President Donald Trump’s decision to mobilize federal agents to patrol Washington, D.C.

“These are folks that have been living this for 40 years, 40 years of having to live in fear,” Director Serralta said. “We should never accept that the capital of the United States is a location where you can get robbed, mugged, raped. You know, that’s just not acceptable.“

The director added that the goal is to “stamp out crime completely.“ He continued, “The city is going to be better for it, and I think the citizens of D.C. are going to be very happy going forward.”

Media outlets and city officials have continued to claim that the District of Columbia’s decrease in crime over recent years did not warrant President Trump’s invocation of the Home Rule Act to federalize the capital’s law enforcement. However, a D.C. police sergeant-turned-whistleblower had filed suit against the city, claiming that the Metropolitan Police Department routinely classified crimes as lesser offenses to show a reduction in the city’s crime statistics. City officials settled the lawsuit this month.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller called the crime cover-up a “massive scandal“ and stated that D.C. police filed homicides as “accidents instead of murders.“ He vowed, “It will all be brought to light.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Serralta to be discerning as he heads the U.S. Marshals Service and collaborates on the federal law enforcement effort in D.C.
  • For Deputy Chief of Staff Miller to receive God’s direction as he serves in the president’s administration.
