New legal language has been added to update the Equal Employment Opportunity clauses.
The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Enforcement Bureau issued its Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audits of 300 FM and AM television and radio stations across the country this month. Roughly 5 percent of all stations are selected each year for the audits. This year’s audits update the required information the stations are required to report, requesting information on “any use by the Unit of race-based hiring databases, and specify the position(s) for which they are used.”
President Trump has been reversing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs since he took office in January. This audit is a continuation of the policy to encourage companies to cease implementing what FCC Chair Brendan Carr called “an invidious form of discrimination” that is inconsistent with the Communications Act’s nondiscrimination mandate.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Chair Carr to be led by the Lord as he oversees the audits
