Issue 701 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. Army has reported a 95 percent graduation rate from its Future Soldiers Prep Course. The program, established in August 2022 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, provides 90 days of fitness or academic instruction to help potential recruits meet the military standards to qualify for basic training.

Pray for the secretaries of the Armed Service branches as they continue to seek improvements in recruiting numbers. Pray for active troops and reservists who are on active duty all around the world.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

President Donald Trump is considering heavier sanctions on Russia as that country has intensified its attacks on Ukraine. President Trump called President Putin “crazy” for “needlessly killing a lot of people” and indicated his belief that the Russians want all of Ukraine. Now, a group of 81 senators is supporting legislation that proposes such sanctions “if the Government of the Russian Federation refuses to negotiate a peace agreement with Ukraine, violates any such agreement, or initiates another military invasion of Ukraine.”

Pray for President Trump and members of the Senate coalition as they seek an end to the war in Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

The State Department announced that Secretary Marco Rubio is merging the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs (OPA) fully into the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, reporting to U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. The previous consulate had been shut down during President Trump’s first administration in 2019. The independent OPA was established under President Biden in 2022 when permission to reopen the consulate was not obtained from Israel. The State Department said this merger “will restore the first Trump term framework of a unified US diplomatic mission in Israel’s capital.”

Pray for U.S. officials to seek God’s guidance as they consolidate bureaucratic offices and streamline agencies for a cohesive mission.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Alongside NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced that the CDC no longer includes healthy children or pregnant women in the recommendations for COVID-19 vaccinations. The secretary cited a lack of clinical data as well as other countries removing children from this vaccination.

Pray for U.S. health officials as they use research and scientific findings to improve the building blocks of health, particularly in children.

Pray for Needs Across the States

New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte recently signed legislation that prohibits sanctuary cities in the state. The bill also supports state and local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration officials. The governor said, “New Hampshire will never be a sanctuary for criminals, and we will keep working every day to remain the safest state in the nation.”

Minnesota’s attorney general, High School League executive director, Department of Human Rights commissioner, and commissioner of education are being sued by a sports advocacy group on behalf of female softball players. The lawsuit seeks to remove transgender athletes from the sport to ensure fairness, safety, and equal opportunity. The state’s attorney general has already filed suit against President Trump’s administration for the executive order “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.”

For state governors, attorneys general, and department officials to be discerning in their actions and decisions and their impact on their residents.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Many people focus too much on their weaknesses and allow them to negatively influence their self-image.
We all have weaknesses, but God says His “power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). In other words, our weaknesses give God an opportunity to reveal Himself and work through us. For Him to flow through us, we must come face-to-face with our weaknesses and determine not to let them bother us. We need to love and accept ourselves unconditionally—weaknesses, shortcomings, faults, and all—because God loves and accepts us unconditionally.
I encourage you, when you feel unloved or unaccepted, to remind yourself that feelings are fickle. Remember that God has created you in a unique way, as a specially crafted person who is “fearfully and wonderfully made.” He loves and accepts you fully and has a wonderful plan for your life. Your weaknesses and imperfections will not stop Him from fulfilling His purpose for you or from working through you to bless others. Tell yourself that God loves you and that you will not allow your weaknesses to hinder you from following Him wholeheartedly. Soon you will have a whole new level of confidence and strength.
