Praying for Our Leaders in Government
Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
President Donald Trump’s administration has invoked the Kemp-Kasten Amendment, which withholds federal funding to programs or agencies involved in coercive population control, on the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The UN agency has been working with the Chinese Communist Party on population control as well as promoting DEI and transgender ideology.
Pray for President Trump and members of his Cabinet as they review and cancel the support of foreign programs and agencies.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senator Bernie Moreno of Ohio called for California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to be subpoenaed by the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee due to the riots. He said it was important for legislators to decide if the two officials are capable of handling the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics which are scheduled to be held in Los Angeles.
Pray for discernment for Senators and Representatives as they assess national security and public safety concerns.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The chairman and ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee introduced the bipartisan Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery (SPEED) Act to accelerate the acquisition of military equipment. Chairman Mike Rogers of Alabama and Ranking Member Adam Smith of Washington jointly stated, “The current [system] is too slow, rigid, and bureaucratic to meet today’s urgent needs” and that it was “optimized to avoid failure, rather than to rapidly deliver capabilities to the warfighter.”
Pray for members of House and Senate committees as they hold hearings and craft legislation.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The justices of the Supreme Court declined an appeal of the ruling from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in an election integrity case. The state’s high court decision will stand allowing voters to cast a provisional ballot on Election Day if a technical mistake was made on their mail-in ballot.
Pray for the Supreme Court justices as they issue the remaining opinions for cases in the current term and consider which appeals they will accept for the next term in the fall.
