Secretary Rubio tapped to fill in as National Security Advisor.
President Donald Trump nominated Mike Waltz as the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, removing him from the role as National Security Advisor.
“From his time in uniform on the battlefield, in Congress and, as my National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz has worked hard to put our Nation’s Interests first. I know he will do the same in his new role,” President Trump stated Thursday afternoon.
The president also announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio would serve as national security advisor in the interim.
“Marco Rubio, unbelievable,” the president said at a Rose Garden event a few hours before his announcement. “When I have a problem I call up Marco, he gets it solved.”
“We brought Mike on to do some serious reforms of the National Security Council. He has done that,” Vice President JD Vance said in an interview. “He’s got the trust of both me and the president, but we also thought that he’d make a better UN ambassador as we get beyond this stage of the reforms that we’ve made to the National Security Council.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for President Trump as he appoints individuals to various government posts.
- For Secretary Rubio as he serves as Acting National Security Advisor, Acting Administrator of USAID, and Acting Archivist of the U.S.
