In the News…

Representative Riley Moore of West Virginia reintroduced the Fairness for Stay-at-Home-Parents Act in the House, which Senator Mike Lee of Utah introduced in the Senate. The measure would amend the Family and Medical Leave Act to protect new mothers from being “penalized” for deciding to leave the workforce after having a baby.

The legislation would “prohibit an employer from recovering any health care premium paid by the employer for an employee if the employee fails to return to work due to the birth of a child.”

“Being pro-life means being pro-family. That means ensuring families aren’t penalized for deciding to have a parent stay home with their new baby,” Congressman Moore said. “Our bill ensures families won’t face a huge bill for insurance premiums simply for choosing what’s best for their family.”
