DOT Proposes Updates for Equitable Infrastructure for Small Businesses

Department is accepting written comments about changes to the Federal Register.

The Department of Transportation issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking last week for changes to two regulations; the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE). These regulations were introduced 40 years ago to prevent discrimination in the business sector, but require many changes to fully modernize the regulations for today’s issues.

“For far too long, small and disadvantaged businesses have faced discrimination that costs them economic opportunities,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “These critical updates would help ensure that small and disadvantaged businesses continue to have a fair chance to compete for federally assisted contracts.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the transportation secretary to encounter the Lord and gain discernment.
  • For transportation officials as they receive and evaluate feedback on the updated discrimination regulations.
