Justice Department Unveils Crime Fighting Initiatives

Measures focus on gun violence and ghost guns.

The Department of Justice launched a National Ghost Gun Enforcement Initiative Thursday ahead of President Biden and Attorney General Garland’s travel to New York City to discuss gun violence and anti-crime efforts. The initiative is one of a number of measures aimed at cutting down on gun violence, specifically reducing the use of ghost guns.

The department’s latest initiative on ghost guns, which are privately made and difficult to track, will prioritize bringing federal charges against individuals who use those weapons. The Justice Department plans to train prosecutors on issues specifically related to ghost guns in a bid to better enforce laws against the weapons, which have grown in popularity.

White House officials also noted the president’s proposed budget calls for an increase in funding for local law enforcement that would boost community policing.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For officials in the Justice Department as they seek to reduce gun violence and use of ghost guns.
  • For Attorney General Garland to seek the Lord’s direction as he leads enforcement of federal laws.
  • For the president and his advisors regarding rising crime across the nation.
