U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Chinese Technology Companies

State Department announces move due to “missile technology proliferation activities.”

The U.S. State Department imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies alleged to be engaged in “missile technology proliferation activities.” The air science and technology companies are prohibited from participating in the U.S. market, contracting with the U.S. government, or obtaining U.S. technology.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian called the move “hegemonic.” The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute reports that China ranks 5th as an exporter of major arms, with a global share of 5.2 percent, while the U.S. has 37 percent of the global share.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For State Department officials as they implement sanctions and other measures in the interest of national and global safety.
  • For Secretary Blinken as he addresses the many global issues unfolding between nations.
