Interior Invites Public Comments on Conservation Database

Digitally accessible Atlas will show land preservation progress.

The Department of the Interior is currently developing the American Conservation and Stewardship Atlas (Atlas), a tool meant for the public to use to see the progress of various conservation efforts across the country. They are currently accepting public comment to help shape the development of Atlas, and are soliciting feedback from states, scientists, tribal nations, and stakeholders for professional assessment.

“The Atlas is intended to be an accessible, updated, and comprehensive tool through which to measure the progress of conservation, stewardship, and restoration efforts across the United States in a manner that reflects the goals and principles of the America the Beautiful initiative,” the Interior press secretary stated. They intend to have a beta version of the Atlas released by the end of 2022.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Interior officials as they receive and evaluate information and public responses
  • That the developers working on the Atlas would benefit from these viewpoints.
  • For Interior Secretary Haaland as she heads efforts regarding conservation.
