HUD Aids Communities Affected by Hurricane Ida

Department issues 27 waivers to assist recovery efforts.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced on Tuesday that it would be taking new actions to help address the structural damages that came about due to Hurricane Ida. The department will be issuing 27 different waivers to cities affected by the storm to help provide quick recovery funding. The action is the largest collection of waivers in the history of HUD.

According to Secretary Marcia Fudge, “HUD is doing everything in its power to ensure that our response to the devastation of Hurricane Ida meets the magnitude of the crisis. With these waivers, we are giving our state and local partners the flexibility they need to more expeditiously recover and rebuild from the storm.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For HUD officials as they address the needs brought about by the hurricane.
  • For Secretary Fudge to seek the Lord’s wisdom as she leads the department.
  • That God would comfort and strengthen those experiencing the damages brought about by the storm.
