Demonstrations have spread in other parts of Europe.
President Donald Trump recommended that France close its borders after widespread riots have occurred across that country for over a month. The violent demonstrators have waved Palestinian and Communist flags as black-clad crowds broke into stores and government buildings in Paris, setting many of them on fire.
President Trump stated over the weekend, “France is burning! The immigration of people from an entirely different world, people with hatred in their hearts, has shattered that once great country. Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late!“ On Monday morning, the president said that the migrants “have taken over France.“
French President Emmanuel Macron identified “trouble-makers from far-left fringe groups“ as the instigators of the violence. “Nothing justifies it, nothing explains it, nothing excuses it,” President Macron said. “Those who sought to bring down the Republic will be held accountable.”
Other cities in Europe also experienced protests over the weekend, with demonstrations in Belgium, Albania, and Portugal, and unrest in Italy.
