Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

President Donald Trump recently pardoned mechanics in Alaska who were convicted for violating the Clean Air Act in 2022. The men had modified diesel engines so they would continue to function in the deeply cold climate of their state, instead of shutting off under the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulations for emissions and climate control. The Senate is considering the Cold Weather Diesel Reliability Act to support transportation security in severely cold climates.

Pray for the president and administration officials as they evaluate the cases of Americans who have been federally prosecuted and convicted for violating climate or environmental regulations.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

A Senate ethics complaint has been filed against Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan. At a University of Chicago event last week, the senator stated that she wanted to deter young people from working in President Trump’s administration. The ethics complaint stated, “Threatening young professionals with future ‘problems’ for the mere sin of working for the President that the American People elected is an anathema to the very foundations of our political systems.”

Pray for senators and representatives as they pursue their visions for the future of political life and law enforcement policies in the United States.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, released an interim report on the investigation into the Fairfax County Attorney who allegedly treated illegal aliens preferentially. The committee’s preliminary review identified at least 100 illegals receiving lax prosecution for crimes such as DUI, felony drug possession, felony grand larceny, shoplifting, fraud, trespassing, destruction of property, and assaulting a law enforcement officer. The report also showed that, between 2023 and 2025, the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office refused to honor at least 1,670 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers and released the criminal illegal aliens into the community.

Pray for the members and chairs of congressional committees to be prudent as they evaluate and respond to D.C.-area law enforcement policies.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

A federal judge is overseeing a lawsuit against President Trump’s attempt to renovate Washington, D.C.’s East Potomac Golf Links to its historic design. Judge Ana Reyes criticized the administration for removing hundreds of hazardous dead or diseased trees without providing the court with adequate notice and issued an order prohibiting the National Park Service from proceeding with further work through at least October 26th. The Justice Department separately filed a motion formally requesting Judge Reyes be disqualified for partiality.

Pray for the justices of the Supreme Court and federal judges to hear and decide cases impartially and according to their oaths to uphold the U.S. Constitution and federal laws.
