Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
President Donald Trump cut the ribbon for the new granite helipad at the White House, which was constructed to accommodate the upgraded Marine One military helicopter. The president called the surface, which he said Sikorsky Aircraft fully paid for, a “work of art.” President Trump said the project was “ahead of schedule, under budget and, again, though expensive, was a Gift to America!”
Pray for wisdom for the president as he plans upgrades and renovations to the White House and historic sites in the nation’s capital.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa expressed support for an embargo on diesel to support U.S. farmers and truckers. He stated that if the government can embargo chips to China, “it can embargo diesel to help American farmers & truckers.” The senator said on social media, “We need our family farmers who feed & fuel the world [to be] on the strongest footing possible no matter what’s happening across the globe.” Representative Tim Burchett of Tennessee has introduced a bill that would ban the export of diesel fuel until January 2027.
Pray for senators and representatives as they evaluate strategies to support U.S. farming and trucking industries as the price of diesel has continued to rise.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The Senate Agriculture Committee, chaired by Senator John Boozman of Arkansas, was able to advance the proposed Farm Bill out of committee after Senator Mitch McConnell returned and voted in favor of it, breaking the deadlock. The legislation would be the first new Farm Bill since 2018, as each iteration has failed to receive adequate support, and agricultural programs, from crop insurance to nutritional programs, have simply been extended.
Pray for members of Senate and House committees as they consider the Farm Bill and other significant legislation for federal programs that support agriculture.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
Federal Judge Paul Diamond, Jr. recently disqualified the district attorney of Philadelphia and referred him to the Justice Department for an investigation into allegations of obstruction of justice and other potential crimes related to an attempt to overturn a murder conviction. The U.S. district judge stated in his memo, “I have thus reluctantly concluded that Philadelphia’s highest law enforcement official and one of his top assistants may have violated the law.”
Pray for district and appellate judges as they provide oversight and consider cases involving prosecutorial conduct and the appeals of criminal convictions.
