Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for America’s Military
The USS Delaware recently completed a routine port visit in Norway, where leaders from U.S. 6th Fleet and Norwegian allies toured the vessel and interacted with sailors. “Operations in the strategic gateways of the High North and Norwegian Sea are of paramount importance to maritime security, both for the defense of Europe and the defense of the U.S. homeland,” said Rear Admiral John Stafford, commander, Task Force 169. “By routinely deploying our advanced undersea forces alongside other capabilities, we build interoperability with our allies to deter and defend in the theater across all domains.”
Pray for the military commanders of U.S. commands, task forces, and leaders of the service branches of the Armed Forces as they seek to strengthen allied relationships and enhance maritime security and readiness.
Pray for America’s Foreign Relations
Leaders from Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland met this week to sign a joint declaration calling for referendums to withdraw membership from the United Kingdom. President Trump stated during his recent trip to the Emerald Isle that a united Ireland would “happen eventually.” A Scottish referendum proposing independence narrowly failed in 2014.
Russia launched a drone strike on a Ukrainian train near the border of Poland on Sunday, just after a train carrying British and European Union diplomats had left the station. The NATO officials’ train had entered Poland ahead of the drone strike, and passengers were able to evacuate the train that was struck, so there were no injuries. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it was “the kind of random and senseless attack Ukrainians are enduring every day – even on civilian railways.”
Pray for U.S. officials to be discerning as they engage in discussions regarding international conflicts and security partnerships.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Food and Drug Administration authorized a new medication under its accelerated approval program to treat breast cancer for patients who have become resistant to hormone therapy. “Women living with metastatic breast cancer face an uphill battle as their tumors continuously evolve to escape treatment,” acting FDA Commissioner Kyle Diamantas stated. “We owe them every weapon in our arsenal.”
Pray for Acting Commissioner Diamantas and FDA officials and researchers as they fast-track medications and drugs to address life-threatening illnesses.
Pray for Needs Across the States
Governor Abigail Spanberger ended a rulemaking process by the Virginia Board of Health, started under the state’s previous governor, that would have restricted girls’ and women’s sports and use of bathrooms and locker rooms to females. Governor Spanberger said at a Virginia Pridefest event this past weekend, “I tell you I burst into tears because of the fact that I want to make members of the LGBTQ+ community know that you have a governor that values your community.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a package of legislation last week that is intended to protect children from potential technological dangers connected to social media and artificial intelligence. The legislation was named “Adam’s law” after the 16-year-old boy who committed suicide after interacting with ChatGPT. The law will require tech companies to eliminate addictive features for users under 16 and add parental controls for chatbot technology.
Pray for governors and state officials as they evaluate the issues facing their constituents and make policies to address them.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“The Bible teaches that if you’re going to receive eternal life, you can’t earn it. That’s what grace is all about. That if you’re going to go to heaven, you can’t do enough good things to get there. If you’re going to be a Christian, you’re a Christian solely on the work of Christ and it has nothing to do with your good deeds. …
The reality of the Bible is simply this, if you are saved by the grace of God, that grace of God is going to drive you to become holy. And if your life is not becoming more holy, then you are not justified. Therefore, the writer of Hebrews can say, without holiness, no one will see the Lord. …
If we have been given the grace of God, it transforms our life and he produces in us people that are eager to do what is good. And that’s not something that’s an option for the Christian.“ – Pastor Mike Fabarez, Focal Point, September 2026
