Pray for America’s Military
The National Museum of the U.S. Army in Virginia opened an exhibit to highlight the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ role in response to the attacks of September 11, 2001. The “Steel and Stone” exhibit provides an overview of the logistical hurdles surrounding the rescue and cleanup efforts conducted after the terrorist attacks. The commemoration on the 25th anniversary of the attacks includes artifacts recovered from Ground Zero in Manhattan, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Pray for Secretary Hegseth, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Pentagon and service branch officials as they engage in remembrances surrounding the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
Pray for America’s Foreign Relations
Secretary of State Marco Rubio traveled to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru this week. He met with the new De La Espriella government in Colombia, President Noboa in Ecuador, and the new Fujimori government in Peru to discuss U.S. support for Colombia’s earthquake response, cooperation in fighting narcoterrorism, and strengthening commercial relationships in the Western Hemisphere.
Russia struck Ukraine’s capital after a three-day diplomatic pause during which Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with officials in Moscow and Kyiv to discuss peace. Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha stated, “As soon as the U.S. presidential peace envoys left the city, [President] Putin launched another massive and horrific attack on Kyiv. His ballistic missiles speak louder than his words on diplomacy.”
Pray for Secretary Rubio and U.S. diplomats as they discuss economic and security cooperation and seek to end foreign conflicts.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Food and Drug Administration recently approved a wearable device that is intended to continuously monitor the glucose and ketone levels of diabetics. Director Michelle Tarver of the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health called the authorization “a breakthrough for the safety of children and adults living with diabetes.” She explained, “Knowing that ketone levels are rising, and having that information in real time, around the clock, can be the difference between early intervention and a life-threatening emergency.”
Pray for FDA Acting Commissioner Diamantas and Director Tarver as they seek to improve the lives and well-being of children and adults who live with diabetes.
Pray for Needs Across the States
The Minnesota Supreme Court upheld a state law last month requiring absentee ballots to be signed by a witness and for absentee voters to sign a certificate stating they meet voter eligibility requirements. The state’s high court also ruled that partisan election judges must be properly balanced at Minnesota’s early polling locations during the 18-day early voting period ahead of the November 3 general election.
Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee partially closed Providence’s westbound Washington Bridge for critical repairs in 2023, estimating that the project would be completed in three years. However, last summer, he increased the budget and timeline for the renovations to the bridge that carries Interstate 195 across the Seekonk River, now projected to be finished in 2028. Governor McKee now faces a primary challenge in his bid for reelection.
Pray for state supreme court justices as they consider election integrity legislation and security measures. Pray for state governors to be prudent in their pursuit of infrastructure funding and project awards.
