Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is updating regulations and shifting the designation of some forms of plastic recycling from waste disposal to manufacturing. The agency stated that Administrator Lee Zeldin “has taken several concrete steps to reinvigorate recycling in the United States, including actions that directly support the advanced recycling industry.” The transition is expected to support investments and technology while reducing permitting costs.
Pray for Administrator Zeldin and EPA officials as they work to increase advanced plastic recycling through manufacturing and production, supporting and improving innovation and technology to reduce plastic waste.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
The House of Representatives passed the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act earlier this month to prohibit colleges and universities from participating in boycotts of Israel or preventing students from participating in exchange programs with that nation. Representative Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey introduced the legislation to prevent schools that accept federal student aid and receive federal funding for international and foreign language programs from imposing restrictions on students involving Israeli academic programs.
Pray for representatives in the House as they work to prevent antisemitic actions from academic institutions receiving federal funding.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The House Oversight Committee, chaired by Representative James Comer of Kentucky, is conducting an investigation into Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) law enforcement policies after a whistleblower claim that the agency let fentanyl pills to flow through New Mexico and possibly other states. Congressman Comer said that the whistleblower stated the DEA allowed the trafficking of deadly fentanyl by smaller distributors between 2021 and 2024 in a Justice Department effort to catch larger drug dealers.
Pray for the chairs and members of congressional committees as they seek to ensure federal agencies uphold the law and protect American lives.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
A federal judge in Maryland issued a preliminary injunction against President Trump’s most recent executive order addressing birthright citizenship. The president’s order sought to prohibit citizenship for newborns of mothers who are present in the United States on visas. Legal challenges to the administration’s various policies surrounding immigration fraud continue to be filed.
Pray for federal justices and judges to be prudent in their interpretation of federal laws as they hear and rule on challenges to immigration and visa policies from the president and his administration.
