Senator Darline Graham Co-Sponsors SAVE America Act

President Trump endorses her in November’s midterm election.

Senator Darline Graham of South Carolina, who was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster to fill the remainder of her brother, the late Senator Lindsey Graham’s term, has sponsored the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act as her first official action in the U.S. Senate.

“The American people are demanding immediate action from Congress on election integrity. That’s why the SAVE America Act is the first bill I am cosponsoring in the Senate,” Senator Darline Graham said. “These reforms are common sense and need to be enacted quickly. I look forward to working closely with President Trump to get the SAVE America Act signed into law.”

The first sister to directly succeed her brother in Congress, Senator Graham announced this week that she will run for the full term in the August primary. President Donald Trump encouraged Senator Graham, a former public administrator and member of the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, to run for the six-year term for which her brother had been campaigning for reelection.

After receiving President Trump’s endorsement for the primary, Senator Graham said, “I’ve been praying a lot, talking to my family. But with the love of my family, with the support of his staff, I know I’m a hard worker. I learned that from Lindsey. He cared about the people of this state. I’ve worked for almost 30 years for the people of this state. I feel like I can do it. I feel an inner peace about it.”

While she pledged to honor her brother’s legacy, the younger Graham also expressed her own priorities, saying, “I used to see him on the talk shows. I would watch him, and I’d be like, ‘Lindsey, are you just talking about national security all the time?’ And I understand that’s important. Protecting our borders, national security, absolutely.”

“‘But talk about also what matters to the average person. The price of groceries, the price of gas, health care. Insurance, those kinds of things.’ That’s what I’m worried about,” she said.

On Tuesday, July 28, a tribute will be held in the Capitol Rotunda for Senator Lindsey Graham, and a funeral at the National Cathedral.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Senator Graham to seek God’s guidance as she fills the remainder of her brother’s term through the end of 2026.
  • For discernment for the voters of South Carolina as they prepare to choose a candidate for the November midterm election.
