Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Kelly Loeffler announced a record number of business formations this year. She stated that an average of 513,000 business formations has occurred each month for the past six months. The agency recently announced a grant funding opportunity as part of the Supply Chain Acceleration and Logistics Enablement (SCALE) Program. The SBA also hosted its third Supplier Matchmaking Expo this week in Scottsdale, Arizona. The expo featured the space and semiconductor industries, with a focus on strengthening domestic supply chains.
Pray for Administrator Loeffler and U.S. economic and commerce officials as they seek to support small business owners and strengthen the nation’s domestic supply chains.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Representative Jeff Crank of Colorado recently introduced a resolution to prohibit intimate relationships between members of the House of Representatives and any House employee unless the relationship is first disclosed to and reviewed by the House Ethics Committee. Representatives Ro Khanna of California and Anna Paulina Luna of Florida introduced legislation earlier this year that would block members of Congress from using campaign funding to settle or fight allegations of sexual misconduct. Congressman Khanna said that if politicians had to rely on their own financial resources they would behave better.
Pray for members of Congress as they seek to increase the guardrails on relationships between federal politicians and employees.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
House Armed Services Committee Members Abe Hamadeh of Arizona and Don Davis of North Carolina have introduced the bipartisan Bolstering Recognition, Resurgence, Retention, and Remembrance of the Thunderbolt (BRRRRT) Act to require the U.S. Air Force to keep at least 126 A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warhogs” in the fleet. “The A-10 has repeatedly proven itself on the battlefield, saving American lives and delivering unmatched close air support when our troops need it most,” said Congressman Hamadeh. “The BRRRRT Act ensures we do not retire a proven weapons system before a certified replacement exists.”
Pray for senators and representatives on the Armed Services committees as they seek to ensure adequate types and numbers of military equipment, weapons, and aircraft are available for national defense.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The First Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals recently upheld a Massachusetts ban on assault weapons and large magazines. The court panel cited a prior panel ruling that upheld the ban under the Second Amendment, rejecting claims under the Equal Protection and Commerce Clauses. The decision is expected to be overturned in the future, as it does not align with Supreme Court precedent.
Pray for circuit and district judges as they hear cases regarding the protected freedoms under the Bill of Rights and other federal laws.
