Pray for America’s Military
The U.S. Air Force is considering reactivating some B-52 Stratofortresses that have been retired after the strike operations that have occurred in Iran. The service intends to keep the B-52H flying in its bomber fleet through the 2050s by modernizing the aircraft with updated engines and radar. The bombers will be redesignated the B-52J after their upgrades.
Pray for Secretary Meinke and Colonel Spaulding as they evaluate the resurrection and retrofitting of retired B-52s.
Pray for America’s Foreign Relations
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that his nation’s military attacked a Russian warship and an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea. President Zelenskyy said that both Iran and North Korea have been supplying Russia with weapons in the war against his nation. He also stated that Russia has given Iran satellite information for its attacks on American military installations in the region.
Japan experienced a 7.1 magnitude earthquake this week, which was followed by aftershocks with a magnitude of up to 4.5. At least 50 people were injured and 150,000 residents evacuated. The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s microchip production factory on the island of Kyushu was evacuated, and people at a shopping center in Kumamoto were trapped when a second floor collapsed.
Pray for U.S. officials as they engage foreign leaders to provide security and humanitarian assistance.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has notified state Medicaid directors to phase out the use of dental fillings that contain mercury and end coverage for procedures that include “dental amalgams.” Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. said, “For decades, we have relied on a material that contains one of the world’s most toxic heavy metals when safe, effective mercury-free alternatives are widely available. … It’s time to turn the page on dental amalgam and help every state move toward safer, mercury-free care.”
Pray for Secretary Kennedy and CMS Director Dr. Oz as they seek to remove toxic materials from dental care procedures.
Pray for Needs Across the States
The Oregon Health Authority released a campaign titled “Rethink the Drink” to discourage excessive alcohol consumption. The agency’s social media post featured the statement, “Along with asbestos and tobacco, alcohol is in the highest risk group for cancer.” Beverage industry groups and some state legislators have responded to the messaging, stating that it is misleading and based on misinformation.
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves recently signed a law that established a youth court system, replacing part-time referees with full-time family court judges. New chancellors are also appointed to manage youth court cases under the measure. Governor Reeves said, “There’s no doubt in my mind the families facing the courts will be better served, because we will have full-time judges for every single kid.”
Pray for state governors and health officials as they address child welfare and concerns over alcohol consumption.
