Issue 758 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

U.S. Central Command and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence have not yet commented on reports that the F-15 Strike Eagle downed in Iran in April encountered a “jellyfish” drone swarm. During debriefings, the rescued fighter pilot reportedly described the airspace as a “minefield of drones” in a meshed network. Intelligence officials had previously theorized that Iran, Russia, and China might be collaborating on unmanned system technology.

Pray for U.S. military and intelligence officials as they assess hostile nations’ capabilities and develop strategies to counteract them.

Pray for America’s Foreign Relations

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said that he expects an agreement with the United States regarding Greenland by the end of 2026. The recently reappointed leader confirmed that officials from Denmark, Greenland, and the U.S. have engaged in discussions since January over President Trump’s goal of controlling the Arctic island territory.

The World Health Organization reported thousands of excess deaths from a heatwave that has occurred across Europe. According to the International Energy Agency, less than 20 percent of European dwellings have air conditioning. The public health ministry of France reported a 40 percent increase in deaths at home, and media outlets reported consumers vying to purchase fans and portable air conditioning units.

Pray for U.S. officials as they engage with foreign ministers in diplomatic discussions.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

State health officials are urging parents to store over-the-counter allergy and sleep medications in secure places where children and teenagers are unlikely to access them, as a dangerous Benadryl challenge has reemerged on social media. Poison Control Centers have reported receiving more than double the calls this year involving the antihistamine and sedative diphenhydramine. Medical personnel warn that high doses of the drug may cause confusion, hallucinations, dangerous heart rhythms, seizures, coma, and death.

Pray for federal and state health officials as they seek to alert the public to the potentially fatal results of overdosing on common medications.

Pray for Needs Across the States

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs signed legislation last month that facilitates the removal of squatters illegally inhabiting residential properties. The bill applies to unauthorized tenants who never had a verbal or written agreement with a property owner to “cohabitate with the property owner in that residential dwelling.” Current state landlord-tenant rights laws are not affected by the bill. It is also not applicable to family members of property owners nor to people involved in pending litigation with owners.

The Texas Supreme Court changed the statute of limitations for malpractice lawsuits for detransitioners who underwent sex-rejecting therapies and surgeries as minors. The state’s high court redefined the statute of limitations timeline to begin when a patient ascertains the injury. The Texas legislature is preparing to consider a bill next year that would allow patients to file claims related to pediatric transgender procedures until their 25th birthday.

Pray for state governors, legislators, and judges as they seek to address their constituents’ needs and concerns.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Devices, we’d all have to agree, have changed our lives. In some instances, they’ve changed it for good, but in other instances, they’ve changed it for the bad, and they have made a huge change in our teenagers. Research today shows that teens are more anxious, more depressed, and more suicidal than ever before. One researcher was looking at teen suicide and he said he saw a spike beginning in 2007, the same year that the iPhone came on the market. … Parenting is a lot harder today than it was 15 years ago. Being a kid growing up is a lot harder today than it was just 15 years ago. God has something to say in His word for the struggle that we feel as we live in this world as we deal with technology. Ephesians chapter five, verse 11, says this: ‘And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them, for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.’
For this reason it says, and he’s probably quoting from an early first-century hymn: ‘Awake sleeper and arise from the dead and Christ will shine on you. Therefore, be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time because the days are evil.’ Let’s make a paraphrase of verse 15 and say this: ‘Therefore, be careful how you parent, not as unwise parents but as wise, making the most of your time because the days are evil.’ When it says to be careful, that word means to look diligently. Watch very carefully how you walk. Watch very carefully how you parent. Being a parent is a great blessing. Children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward. But it’s also a great responsibility. Be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of the time. Why? Because the days in which we live are evil.” – Dr. Jeff Schreve, From His Heart, “Parenting in a Digital World”
