Issue 748 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink announced that the military branch will keep the A-10 Thunderbolt II, also known as the Warthog, in service through 2030. The decision to delay the retirement of the plane comes as the aircraft has played a significant role in Operation Southern Spear and Operation Epic Fury.

Pray for Secretary Hegseth, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the secretaries of each military branch as they continue operations around the world.

Pray for America’s Foreign Relations

Russia has upgraded the lethality of Iran’s Shahed drones, including carbon in the black paint that absorbs radar and delays systems from identifying their approach. The updates also include a two-art detonation, where the initial explosion can breach the exterior of a structure and the secondary blast releases shrapnel within the building. Some versions include incendiaries that burn at high temperatures.

Iran canceled the execution of 8 women at President Trump’s request after he extended the ceasefire indefinitely that was set to expire on Wednesday. President Trump stated, “Four will be released immediately, and four will be sentenced to one month in prison. I very much appreciate that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request, as President of the United States, and terminated the planned execution.”

Pray for the president, vice president, secretary of state, and other administration officials as they engage foreign ministers and heads of state in discussions regarding ceasefires and peace agreements.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken steps to advance testosterone replacement therapy for men. FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary said, “New and emerging data suggest there may be an opportunity to help men suffering from symptoms that significantly affect quality of life. We are eager to work with sponsors to further evaluate this potential new use while upholding our rigorous standards for safety and effectiveness.”

Pray for Commissioner Makary and FDA officials as they consider the expansion of advanced treatment options for male testosterone replacement therapy.

Pray for Needs Across the States

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation that will require driver’s licenses and state identification cards to display a person’s citizenship and immigration status beginning in 2027. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles currently requires proof of Social Security and a birth certificate, a U.S. passport, a certificate of naturalization, or a certification of citizenship to apply for a license or ID. Florida law also requires identification to vote.

The California State Assembly recently advanced the “Stop Nick Shirley Act.” The proposal seeks to criminalize investigative journalism as a misdemeanor, with $10,000 fines, imprisonment, and removal of content. Nick Shirley is the investigative journalist who exposed government-funded fraudulent child daycare centers in Minnesota. The measure states that its purpose is to protect “providers from harassment.”

Pray for officials at every level of state government as they make decisions and promote legislation to address issues facing their residents.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Recently, a young mother died of cancer at the age of about 44, leaving children behind. If I were God and if I loved her, I wouldn’t have allowed that to happen. At least, that’s the way we think. We might be wrong, but that’s the way in which we think. Someone said these words: ‘When I see that God does nothing about things that matter so much to me, it’s hard for me to believe in His love. I know that He loves me, Jesus died for me, but I would think that a loving God would intervene and do some things for me that I would expect love to do.’ We’ve all been there, haven’t we? … The Bible says in Romans chapter 8… picking up in verse 38: ‘For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor power, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ What a passage! … There’s a special love for those who are in Christ. Clearly, this passage speaks to God’s unconditional love, that nothing will ever separate us from His love. When you look at this passage, it becomes very obvious that what God has chosen to do is to not show His love toward us by removing difficulties, by making sure that life is a smooth path, or by answering all of our prayers. Rather, through tribulation and through difficulty, He is going on and loving us in ways that we do not understand, that will become clear in the future when we are with Him.“ – Dr. Erwin Lutzer, 5 Minutes with Pastor Lutzer, “God is Love #4”
