VERSE OF THE WEEK
The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever. – Psalm 119:160
Standing for Truth
America’s first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, is credited with saying, “Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.” Though the quote’s true origin is not entirely certain, there is still great truth in the statement. God’s Word has been clear about what is true and where you are to stand. In April 1947, the Chaplain of the U.S. Senate, Peter Marshall, prayed, “Our Father, we yearn for a better understanding of spiritual things, that we may know surely what Thy will is for us and for our Nation. Give us clear vision that we may know where to stand and what to stand for—because unless we stand for something, we shall fall for anything.” In these days of conflict and confusion, draw near to God and make your stand for the truth that the Lord has revealed.
