Issue 743 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr urged broadcasters airing inaccurate or misleading information, particularly surrounding reports out of the Middle East, “to correct course before their license renewals come up.” He stated, “The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not. … It is very important to bring trust back into media.”

Pray for the FCC chair and commissioners as they seek to ensure that broadcasters attempt to provide factual and accurate reports on current events.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa, who has supported the reduction in federal bureaucracy in the nation’s capital, commended the actions of USDA Secretary Brook Rollins in downsizing her department’s real estate footprint in Washington, D.C. After the announcement that the federal agency was transferring a large office building to the General Services Administration, the senator said, “Let’s just keep on draining the swamp, and, Secretary Rollins, moving our federal workers closer to the people that they represent.”

Pray for senators and representatives as they advocate for the shifting of federal workers from the District of Columbia and surrounding areas to regions across the nation.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas, chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, stated that media reports claiming the president’s administration was not ready for Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz during Operation Epic Fury were incorrect. He said that outlets “should do some fact-checking. The U.S. has planned for Iran to try to close the strait for decades.”

Pray for chairs and members of congressional committees as they receive classified information during briefings.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

A federal jury recently convicted nine Antifa cell members on charges of terrorism and attempted murder in a case over which District Judge Mark Pittman presided. In July 2025, the defendants were involved in riots and the armed ambush of federal officers near the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Prairieland detention center in Alvarado, Texas.

Pray for district and appellate judges as they determine what evidence is admissible as they preside over federal trials.
