The House had been advancing resolutions to hold them in contempt of Congress.
Former President Bill Clinton and Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that they will testify before Congress, after their refusal to honor subpoenas resulted in the House of Representatives voting to hold them in contempt of Congress. They were subpoenaed to provide depositions for the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s investigation into deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Committee Chair James Comer of Kentucky said last month, “No witness—not a former President or a private citizen—may willfully defy a duly issued congressional subpoena without consequence.”
The committee had refused requests from the former first couple for restrictions on their testimony, though the chairman made accommodations for their schedule. Chairman Comer announced this week that Mr. Clinton was scheduled for deposition on February 27, and Mrs. Clinton the day before.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Chairman Comer and members of the committee as they prepare to depose the former first couple.
- For former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Clinton to be transparent regarding their knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s activities and relationships.
