Issue 735 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group is en route to the Persian Gulf, and dozens of fighter jets have been redeployed from the United Kingdom to the Middle East. The U.S. is expected to engage in military action in Iran after the regime killed possibly thousands of protestors in recent weeks.

Pray for President Trump and U.S. military leaders as they make decisions regarding the situation in Iran. Pray for the safety of U.S. military personnel engaging in operations around the globe.

Pray for America’s Foreign Relations

President Trump criticized the United Kingdom this week for a measure that would transfer the sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. Diego Garcia, one of the islands in question, houses an important U.S.-U.S. military installation. The transfer of sovereignty will supposedly allow the U.K. to retain the right to use the Diego Garcia base. The move has come after the International Court of Justice and the U.N. General Assembly determined that the U.K. should remove its colonial administration of the archipelago.

President Trump stated that the U.S. would not use military forces to annex Greenland during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The president has been keen on acquiring the Arctic island territory from Denmark for national security and resources.

Pray for the president and his advisors as they evaluate relationships with foreign partners and seek to improve U.S. national security.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

A team of researchers from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Emory School of Medicine, Atlanta, has successfully performed a minimally invasive coronary artery bypass for the first time. The bypass procedure previously required the cutting of the chest wall to perform open-heart surgery. The NIH stated, “The authors suggest the new technique may also find some footing in treating coronary diseases more broadly, in cases where other approaches, such as stents, fail to keep arteries open.”

Pray for Director Bhattacharya and NIH officials and researchers as they collaborate with academic researchers and scholars to advance new surgical options and techniques.

Pray for Needs Across the States

Newly inaugurated Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger repealed the previous governor’s executive order that promoted state and local law enforcement cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). However, between February and December 2025, two county jails and 25 sheriff’s offices signed contracts with ICE to identify, detain, and transfer into federal custody criminal illegal aliens, which remain in force.

After the Texas Attorney General brought a legal case to oppose an abortion funding program and the state legislature passed a new law prohibiting it, San Antonio dropped its effort to establish the Reproductive Justice Fund. The city had sought to use taxpayer funding through that program for residents to travel out of state for abortions.

Pray for governors and state officials as they seek to implement immigration policies and abortion restrictions.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Peace is found in obedience. It is found when your ways please the Lord. Go back to the place of rest. … Peace is a choice. Peace is not the absence of trouble. Peace is standing in the middle of your storm and choosing to be still and not panic. You choose to trust God. You choose to be at peace. – Jentezen Franklin, Senior Pastor, Free Chapel, Gainesville, Georgia
