Attorney General Bondi said the arrest is the result of the president’s administration making the case a priority.
The Department of Justice announced that charges have been filed against the pipe bomb suspect, arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) this week, who placed devices near both the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee headquarters on January 5, 2021.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi said, “Today’s arrest happened because the Trump administration has made this case a priority.” She said that the suspected was arrested after the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Capitol Police, the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia, and the FBI collaborated on the investigation.
FBI Deputy Kash Patel said, “The investigation into the pipe bombs in Washington, D.C. has been a high priority since Deputy Director Bongino and I assumed our roles nine months ago.”
He added, “Since that time, our FBI teams have gone back over every fact and every data point looking for new leads—and today’s arrest is the result of that outstanding work,”
