Suspicious Package at Join Base Andrews Sickens Multiple People

Buildings were evacuated and an investigation is being conducted.

A suspicious package containing white powder sickened people when it was opened this week at Joint Base Andrews, the Maryland military base that houses Air Force One.

A spokesperson for the 316th Wing of the U.S. Air Force stated that multiple individuals became ill. “They were evaluated and treated by JBA medical personnel, determined to be in stable condition and released today.”

“As a precaution, the building and connecting building were evacuated and a cordon was established around the area,” a joint base spokesperson stated. “Joint Base Andrews first responders were dispatched to the scene, determined there were no immediate threats and have turned the scene over to Office of Special Investigations. An investigation is currently ongoing.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the affected Joint Base Andrews personnel to recover quickly from the exposure.
  • For military base officials as they investigate the substance and its source.
  • For God’s protection over all the men and women serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
