U.S. and Mexican law enforcement collaborated with the National Counterterrorism Center to share intelligence.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced the arrest of cartel members who trafficked narcotics and humans, including newborn babies. A female known as “La Diabla,” allegedly an associate of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, is accused of illegal medical procedures and the sale of newborns.
DNI Gabbard said, “Her whole money-making operation was centered around luring pregnant women, performing illegal C-sections, harvesting organs, and selling newborn babies.”
Under President Donald Trump’s policy on countering terrorism, his executive order directing the designation of cartels and transnational gangs as foreign terrorist organizations by the State Department has facilitated the operations against cartels. Tens of thousands of cartel associates and members have been added to the database since the designations of these hybrid terror groups.
