Issue 722 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

A unit of 250 to 350 U.S. advisors and security personnel will remain in Iraq to coordinate with American forces in Syria, according to Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, as the Islamic State (IS) has created increasing instability in the region. Last year, the U.S. agreed to disband the U.S.-led coalition that fought IS in Iraq, and many American forces withdrew from their bases by the end of last month. Gradual reductions in U.S. personnel and operations have continued.

Pray for Secretary Hegseth and U.S. commanders as they assess the deployment and stationing of American troops around the world.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

The high-level meeting that was supposed to take place between U.S. and Russian diplomats was replaced with a call between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Foreign Minister Lavrov. The White House announced, “There are no plans for President Trump to meet with President Putin in the immediate future,” to discuss peace in Ukraine after Russia indicated that their preconditions for a ceasefire remain unchanged..

Pray for President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and other U.S. officials as they continue to seek an end to the Ukraine war.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Vice President Vance went to Israel this week, joining Envoy Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the effort to shore up the Gaza ceasefire. Israel had conducted strikes in Gaza after two IDF soldiers were killed in Rafah by Hamas. President Trump said that Hamas will meet with a “fast, furious, and brutal” end if they do not keep the terms of the first phase of the ceasefire.

Pray for wisdom for all the leaders involved in the effort to maintain the peace deal in Gaza.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Last week, President Trump announced a new pricing agreement for in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments that should make the process more affordable. The president said, “There’s no deeper happiness and joy than raising children, and now millions of Americans struggling with infertility will have a new chance to share the greatest experience of them all.”

Pray for President Trump and U.S. health officials as they promote fertility treatments and support building families.

Pray for Needs Across the States

Maine’s Secretary of State responded to an incident in which a resident found 250 unmarked absentee ballots in an Amazon box delivered to her home ahead of the state’s election next month. “This year, it seems that there may have been attempts to interrupt the distribution of ballots and ballot materials,” the secretary of state said. “I have full confidence that law enforcement will determine who is responsible, and any bad actor will be held accountable.” Measures on the ballot include photo ID requirements for voting and a potential decrease in ballot drop boxes.

The South Carolina Supreme Court overturned a lower court order temporarily blocking the state’s voter rolls from the Department of Justice. The case was moved to a different court after it was determined that the state agency was not located in the circuit of the original court. The new judge declined to block the sharing of information, and the state’s election commission is working with federal officials to ensure the security of the data to be transmitted.

Pray for state judges and justices and governing authorities as they seek to ensure the security of ballots and the privacy of voters.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

The New Testament Gospel is a message of ‘freedom,‘ not from an expectation to keep the rules, but from the just and deserved penalty of our sin. All too often Christians bandy the words ‘free,‘ ‘liberty‘ and ‘freedom‘ but with an altogether unbiblical understanding of what we are ‘freed‘ from. Jesus said that if we love him we will keep his commandments (John 14:21) and that if we don’t it proves that we know nothing of his grace and forgiveness (1 John 2:3-4).
The freedom that the Bible speaks of is the kind that one would refer to if his death sentence at San Quentin were commuted by the Governor and he were ‘set free‘ without the just penalty of his transgression being carried out (see Romans 8:2 with 6:23).
Praise God we are free! May we never cease to serve and obey our gracious Redeemer who has freed us from the consequences of our sin!“ – Pastor Mike Fabarez, Focal Point, October 2025
